Developments in Large Language Models (LLMs, a type of artificial intelligence) have driven a wave of intelligent chatbots. The Legis Research Engine harnesses the advanced language-understanding capabilities of LLMs to create a cognitive system that can apply legal reasoning. Its proprietary algorithm applies cutting-edge AI techniques, including securely leveraging OpenAI's GPT-4 on Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Service.
No data input to the Legis Research Engine is used to train future AI models by Legis or any of our partners. During the Legis Beta phase, we may review queries for quality assurance; please see our Privacy Policy for more details. Currently, the Legis Research Engine has access to all in-force New Zealand legislation and regulations.
